The wild rivers of West Virginia are our playground. The New and Gauley Rivers are the ultimate destination for whitewater.

Join us amid the spectacular beauty of the New River Gorge. The New is often called "The Grand Canyon of the East". The Upper New is gentle and playful, perfect for families. A Lower New River trip is thrilling, taking you through 1000-foot-deep gorges, running more than 25 rapids ranging from Class II to Class IV+.

Then there's the Gauley River, running only 22 incredible days in the Fall. The Gauley is considered one of the top 10 whitewater rivers in the world, with more than 100 major rapids, 56 of them Class III-V+. The Lower Gauley is suitable for beginners with its big, roller coaster type rapids. The Upper Gauley is recommended for experienced rafters due to the intense, continuous, technical rapids.

These rivers and lands are as old as time, as fresh as morning. A truly wild river connects one to the spirit of the earth, and finds a common ground within us all. It echoes the spirit of the first West Virginians who settled in this wild frontier, as well as the Native Americans who consecrated the land and waters of the Appalachians far before. The rivers indeed tie us to these historical lands. They have seen West Virginia through the Civil War. They intimately knew some of the first coal miners. They've cleansed us, excited us, purified us and supported us.

As you raft these rivers with us, the whitewater will engulf your being, tossing it joyously about. You will feel the origins of the New River (the second oldest river on earth) flowing from a mountain spring high in the Blue Ridge mountains of North Carolina. You will feel the waves of the Gauley as they dance in their newfound freedom, after their release from Summersville Dam. Listen closely. They have quite a story to tell.
