Geocaching is a rapidly growing recreational activity that involves searching for hidden Caches with the help of a GPS device. Caches are waterproof containers that can vary in size from a film case to a five-gallon bucket. There are caches in 222 countries around the world, and anyone is free to go search for them. With over 100 caches in the New River Gorge area, Geocaching is just one more outdoor activity available to guests on their vacations. NARR is responsible for two caches in the area. NARRcache1 is located right here on our base, hidden back in the woods. NARRcache2 is hidden eight miles down the road in Hawks Nest State Park along the Cliffside Trail. Feel free to come search for our hidden treasures, but don’t forget about the rafting! NARRcache1: N 38 07.552, W 081 00.518 NARRcache2: N 38 07.329, W 081 07.763
