Rock Climbing

In the mid 80’s, climbers discovered the seemingly endless cliffs above the New River. Now, New River’s calico-colored cliffs hold more than 1600 routes, making it one of the largest rock climbing areas in the world. And the world has heard about the New River Gorge. It’s not uncommon to find climbers from Canada, France - even South Africa – wandering beneath the sandstone heights. If you’re not an experienced climber, don’t worry. Climbing instruction is tailored to your ability level. All courses are accredited through the American Mountain Guides Association, and group rates are offered. Get some friends together, and see how far you can push your vertical limit! Gear included.
